Sourcing steel from all over the world, primarily Western Europe, Steel & Alloy currently process over 320,000 tonnes of steel per annum. We are approved processors for both Arcelor and Corus and are the preferred processor for Salzgitter within the U.K. Automotive Sector. These partnerships give us the stability and technical support needed to provide a total supply solution for our customers. Steel & Alloy Processing Limited was formed in 1969 when initial trading was carried out from a small office. Since processing of steel started in the early 1970’s the company has always been located in West Bromwich, where it currently occupies 2 sites in excess of 200,000 sq.ft, close to Junction 1 of the M5 at the centre of U.K. manufacturing industry. The company has grown considerably over the last 20 years, always investing in excess of 90% of its profits back into the business. Boasting an impressive array of processing equipment we are able to provide a very flexible service to major U.K. first tier suppliers to the automotive industry, and direct to U.K. based OEM’s. Our commitment to quality involves close collaboration with the producing mill to specify the best grade appropriate to the customer’s end use. Cutting to length, slitting and shearing are the basic processes on which Steel & Alloy was founded. We have also recognised that primary operations, such as first-op blanking, are time consuming and costly for end users, therefore we have installed dedicated blanking lines which are capable of producing trapezoidal and irregular shaped blanks. Steel & Alloy has achieved many ‘firsts’ over the years being the first company to introduce multi-strand blanking lines, and with the addition of coil-fed blanking presses has set a trend that other major service centres are following. |
